Measuring Guide

MEASURING FOR SLIDING WARDROBE DOORS

Measuring up for sliding wardrobe doors is quite straightforward complicated only by the fact that most openings are not truly level and parallel. Fortunately sliding wardrobe doors do come with an element of adjustment to cope with these conditions.

Opening Height

Before measuring the opening height decide what the bottom track will be fitted onto. If you have a hardwood or laminate floor the track will fit directly onto this. However if you have carpet it is best to cut out the carpet and fit a piece of timber 18mm high by the same width as the track (65mm).

Once this is done you are ready to take sizes. Measure in three positions, left, middle and right, use the smallest size. The largest opening height we can accommodate is 2480mm. NB: If your sizes vary by more than 20mm in the height please call for advice on 0141 554 0011.

Opening Width

Measure the opening width at the top, middle and bottom and use the largest size.

Measurement Check List
  1. Minimum opening height after you fit any floor liners or make any adjustments to your opening.
  2. Maximum opening width.
  3. We require only the dimensions of your opening space NOT YOUR DOOR SIZES
  4. If in doubt or if you require advice please call 0141 554 0011
Frequently Asked Questions

Q Do the doors come with the top and bottom track?
A Yes my door prices include top and bottom tracks.

Q I cannot find the style of door that I want on your site, can you still help?
A If you have a design or you have seen what you like somewhere else on the internet, send me a link or a picture. If I can make it I can give you a quote

Q How high and what is the biggest width I can cover?
A All our doors are made to measure to fit your room height and width. The largest opening height without infill above is 2480mm and the largest opening width is 196” (5m).

Q How thick is the mirror/glass you use and are they safe?
A The mirrors and glass are 4mm thick and safety backed to British Standards.

Q Are they easy to fit?
A As long as you are a reasonable DIYer with a basic set of tools you shouldn’t have a problem, you can always give us a call if you need any advice. The doors come with fitting instructions.

Q I have coving what should I do?
A This isn’t a problem, you can just remove a section of the coving that is the same width as the top track.

Q I have a carpet what should I do?
A Where you can, it is best to fix the bottom track onto a packer 3/4” (18mm) thick (cut the same width as the track) and carpet either side of it. If you already have carpet down and you really don’t want to start cutting it with a Stanley knife, you can put the track on a thin 8mm MDF packer. If you do this it is important to put the screws closer together otherwise you will get a roller coaster effect with the track.

Q How long will my doors take to be delivered?
A Doors will be delivered within 2 – 4 weeks depending on where they are being delivered to.

Q Can I collect my doors?
A Yes, your doors can be collected approximately 7 days from ordering.

Q Do you have a showroom I can visit?
A Yes, we have a large showroom which is open 7 days a week where you can view our products and see them manufactured in our factory. Find us at:
30 Tobago Street, Glasgow G40 2RH Telephone: 0141 554 0011.

  • FIGURE 2: FIT YOUR INTERIOR FIRST IF REQUIRED
  • FIGURE 3: FIT TOP AND BOTTOM TRACK N.B.: ALWAYS FIT TOP TRACK FIRST THEN THE BOTTOM TRACK, WHICH SHOULD BE 25mm FURTHER BACK INTO THE WARDROBE THAN THE TOP TRACK (BOTTOM/TOP TRACK MAY REQUIRE TO HAVE ADDITIONAL HOLES DRILLED)
  • FIGURE 4: ALWAYS FIT THE BACK DOOR/DOORS FIRST – POSITION IT INSIDE THE TOP TRACK AND THEN LOCATE THE BOTTOM WHEELS ONTO THE BOTTOM TRACK
  • FIGURE 5: LOCATE THE ANTI JUMP CLIPS INTO THE BOTTOM TRACK BY TURNING THEM THROUGH 90 DEGREES AND PRESSING THEM DOWN INTO THE BOTTOM TRACK AND THEN CLOSE THEM BACK THROUGH 90 DEGREES N.B.: THE ANTI JUMP CLIPS ARE BLUE AND LOOK LIKE A FLAG, IT STOPS THE DOORS COMING OUT OF THE TRACKS
  • FIGURE 6: PLUMB THE DOORS/LINE THEM UP WITH THE SIDES BY ADJUSTING THE SCREW ON TOP OF THE BOTTOM WHEELS N.B.: THIS IS BEST DONE FROM INSIDE THE WARDROBE WITH THE DOORS CLOSED IF THERE IS ENOUGH ROOM
